Details
General:
Oxygen is colorless, odorless and tasteless. It makes up 21% by volume of the atmosphere. Oxygen in liquid form is pale blue in color. It supports combustion and life. From medical to welding and cutting, Oxygen is used in many applications.
Since 1950, Oxygen has been used in iron and steel manufacturing to accelerate melting and to remove impurities during refining process. Oxygen is also used in many oxidation processes and applications. Mixed with fuel gases, e.g. Acetylene, Oxygen provides a heat source for metal fabrication. In addition, Oxygen is used in furnaces and burners in non-ferrous metal plants, brick making kilns, and pulp and paper mills. It is also used in glass manufacturing.
